A long break since last post, anyhow, lets get down to business..
I’m observing that the food retail market is going into vivid divisions and I will take here the restaurants retails specifically.
We have new comers been active recently as they are going into as I would call them ‘’categories’’ all going into a category called ‘’burger’’ examples like ‘’777 burger, Baby Burger, Burgerizzer, B1 burger, Burget Boutique, Shaikh AlBurger and soon Fat Burger’’ (I felt sick just passing by Fat Burger yesterday in Takhassusi street in Riyadh’’
Usually a traditional restaurant sells everything all in one shop , for example ‘’kabsa, Kebbab, burger, broasted, salads, hummos, fresh juices, sweets, and soft drinks’’ sometimes some restaurants have a breakfast menu additionally, which more opportunity not be lost.
In another words, ‘’the more the menu contains , the more the business will be generating’’ it is a conventional wisdom, very logical stuff.. right!
Wrong.
Likewise any market, the whole market has to be divided into 2 or more categories like for example the internet, we had first at the beginning all in one websites and now we can see the categories very clearly divided into: mail websites (hotmail), search websites (Google), video search ( YouTube), pictures website (Flicker), social website (Facebook ) and eventually the most tiny business is the status update like (Twitter).
Another example, the computer busniess, from the personal computer, laoptops, and eventually even smaller market was descovered which is the tablet computer…
Naturally that’s what is happening in any market and the lesson we learn here is to set up a new category before anybody else and own that in market and in mind as well.
Recap: being first is better than being better.
The common sense says ‘’if you want more sales usually you expand the business or line extend, but in marketing is to contract the business. In other words starting new categories like the Saudis burger people doing.
Just to make it short and straight to the point, the idea I’m proposing today is to even narrow down the choices more further into just selling French Fries
Is it a new idea? not it is not , have a look at below link featuring Amsterdam fries:
I think it could be a successful business one day , this is for entrepreneurs to take this idea into marketplace…

هلا والله ، قريت هالكتاب في القطار بين الرياض و الشرقيه ،، نص وانا رايح والنص الثاني وانا جاي ( لان سيارتي كانت في الورشه ) واحد صدم….. مالكم في الطويله . هذي قصه نجاح شركة من ما قبل البحث عن فكره الى ان اصبحت الشركة تنافس الشركات العالميه في نفس المجال.
ما ادري متى هالكتاب راح تجيبه جرير هذا اذا حطوا له صوره – قودريدز

This book is the heart of HR department, great book would give you some hits and ways to evaluate and choose your career. Nevertheless , Jack exaggerates the importuning of HR which is not the reality. Read Winning the Answers book as added value on top of the Winning book.

Great book I like how the book translates the business finance mentality to be used in personal life.
How can you view your life as a P&L , balance sheet and income statement.
And how can poor & rich dads see a certain situation , and give completely different & opposite point of view.

Thursday 30-Sep-2010, I attended a seminar called Building Successful Brand Winning Strategies And Best Practices!
By Al and his daughter Laura Ries in Warsaw, Poland.
First my objective is to meet Al personally second to get up-to-date learnings & best practices for leading brands worldwide , also benefit from the open decision at the end of the seminar and eventually get a little bit of inspiration.
Continuously, for the last two years, I’ve been reading for Al & Laura Ries different books,watching The Ries reports, regularlychecking their websites and follow them on Twitter and Facebook. When I knew they will be coming to Europe I felt that it’s the time to meet them in personal. The Law of manifestation has been working since the beginning !
